I’m writing this from my home in South Minneapolis, just blocks away from where Renee Good was killed this week. If you’ve been following the news, you know that Minneapolis is hurting. But if you live here, you know it’s more than just "news." Our community is being needlessly attacked and there is one thing that Minneapolis does, and it's stand up for the rights and protections of their citizens.
TNR-Tape.com has always been a passion of mine, and I am incredibly grateful for the support you have shown this business. But right now, selling tape feels insignificant compared to what is happening outside my front door.
Our community is exhausted. We have moved through the trauma of the pandemic, the uprising after George Floyd, and the heartbreak of the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting. And now, with the ICE raids intensifying and the tragic death of Renee Good, the weight feels impossible to ignore.
I cannot in good conscience sit behind a computer screen fulfilling orders as if everything is normal. It isn’t normal. My neighbors are scared. My community is grieving. And right now, they need me more than my business does.
To my customers: Thank you for your patience and your grace. If you are in Minneapolis, please look out for one another. Check on your neighbors. If you are elsewhere, please hold this city in your thoughts.
We need time to heal. I need time to help.
With love and solidarity,
Aaron Collins
P.S. F*&% ICE!
